Exciting New Treatment for Cellulite and Body Contouring

Skin and the Aging Process

As skin ages, it loses two important proteins manufactured in the dermis — Collagen and Elastin.

Collagen is produced by fibroblasts and growth factors in the skin. When skin is taut and firm, it has collagen to thank. Collagen is comprised of tightly-constructed fibers, which help skin maintain its structure and firmness. As its name suggests, elastin gives skin elasticity. It provides firm skin with the ability to bounce back when stretched.

Both collagen and elastin production decline as people age. These two proteins can also become deteriorated by external factors over time, such as:

  • UV exposure
  • pollutants in the environment, including cigarette smoke
  • certain lifestyle factors, such as poor nutrition and drinking alcohol to excess.

Too much sun exposure and not taking care of your skin or health can speed up the process of skin aging. This can make your skin look saggy and wrinkled at a younger age.

CELLULITE

Cellulite is a common, harmless skin condition that causes a lumpy, dimpled appearance on the skin, often on the thighs, hips, buttocks, and abdomen.  Factors that can directly cause or influence the appearance of cellulite include:

  • Hormones: Estrogen, insulin, noradrenaline, thyroid hormones, and prolactin are part of the cellulite production process.
  • Genetics: Certain genes are required for cellulite development. Genetic factors can influence an individual’s metabolism, fat distribution, and circulatory levels.  Cellulite tends to run in families.
  • Lifestyle Factors: A sedentary lifestyle, poor diet, and smoking can contribute to the development of cellulite.
  • Age: As you age, your skin loses elasticity, making cellulite more noticeable.
  • Weight Gain: While cellulite can affect those who are thin, weight gain can make it more prominent.

NEW MINIMALLY-INVASIVE TREATMENT FOR CELLULITE AND BODY CONTOURING

Hyper-dilute Dermal Fillers such as Radiesse® can now be used to “bio-stimulate” the production of collagen within tissues. When used in conjunction with Bio-identical Hormone Replacement (BHRT), PDO Thread Lift, and Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP), individualized treatment plans can be formulated to effectively treat mild to moderate cases of cellulite and to remodel areas of “skin laxity” (loose skin) under the neck, above the knees, on the backsides of the upper arms, and abdominal areas. *

* Disclaimer:  While treatment plans like the ones described above can significantly reduce the appearance of cellulite, they may not completely eliminate it and may require more than one office visit to achieve the desired results.  Also, because results can vary greatly from person to person, results cannot be guaranteed.
